What we do:

Corridor Planning

The CCPC completes corridor plans for state routes and communities across Cambria County. Public engagement is an integral part of these plans to assure both healthier roads and communities. The CCPC’s corridor plans can be found under the Transportation Planning tab.

County Comprehensive Planning and Municipal Comprehensive Planning Technical Assistance

One of the primary purposes of the CCPC is to prepare and update the Cambria County Comprehensive Plan and serve as implementation partner. The CCPC is also available to offer municipalities technical support while they update their own plans. The current County comprehensive plan, Alleghenies Ahead, can be found under the Publications and Reports tab.

Subdivision and Land Development Reviews

Per the Municipalities Planning Code (MPC), the CCPC is required to review all subdivision and land development plans located within municipalities that have an adopted subdivision and land development ordinance (SALDO). The CCPC strictly acts as an advisory board during this process. Check out the Subdivision and Land Development tab to learn more.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning

The CCPC regularly updates the Cambria County Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan and maintains an interactive map of the off-road trails in Cambria County. The plan assures that both the off-road and on-road bicycle and pedestrian needs across Cambria County are being addressed and planned for. Long Range Transportation Planning

The long-range transportation plan (LRTP)
establishes goals and potential projects
to improve the transportation system in
Cambria County, consistent with the county’s overall vision. The LRTP considers a
25-year planning horizon and provides a
framework for making transportation decisions that will support the county’s desired
future. The current LRTP is posted on the Transportation Planning page.

Municipal Technical Assistance for Various Transportation and Planning Needs

The CCPC is available to assist local municipalities with the development of their comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, and subdivision and land development ordinances. If you are a municipality and would like assistance from CCPC staff, please contact us and we will set up a meeting to discuss the needs that you have.
